AmpliTube - AT Live/ AT LE/ AT1:
How do I upgrade to AmpliTube Plug-in for Mac OS X?
If you purchased AmpliTube after April 1, 2003 you can upgrade for free.
After you register your serial number you will be sent an email with a
username, password and link to the personal user area (unless you already
have registered IK Products before, in which case, you already have a login
for the user area).
You will find the OSX version in your User Area under option 3: Download Software updates and free contents .
You will need to go to option 1 after you install, to get an Authorization Code for your new version.
There will be a new Serial Number listed in option 1: Request new authorization code,
starting with AMX10; Please use this serial for the Mac OS X authorizations.
If you did not qualify for the free upgrade go to http://www.amplitube.com and
click on the 'Buy It' button. Here you can purchase the upgrade.
Once your order is placed we will manually check your
registration (this may take up to 2 working days).
You will then be sent a new OSX serial number which you will need to register.

What is AmpliTube Live?
AmpliTube Live is a stand-alone virtual guitar amp and effects modeling
program for MacOS X.
Plug your guitar in with the appropriate adapter and you can play out into a PA or headphones.
AmpliTube Live includes a selection of guitar amp and effects models. You can combine 3 different preamp models and related EQs with 3 different cabinet models. A selected set of 4 classic effects are included as well:, Spring Reverb and 3 stomp-like effects including Wah-Wah, Delay and Overdrive, all modeled after acclaimed classic guitar effects. AmpliTube Live also sports a chromatic tuner.
MacOS X Core Audio features are fully exploited by AmpliTube Live, which runs without any real perceivable latency. It's easy to set up and use, with no need for special hardware or software - it works with built-in Mac audio hardware. Plus you can change the skins to match your mood.
128 presets are included (64 factory, 64 user) which can be selected live via a general MIDI foot controller, so you might even forget you're not playing a real amp.
Compatibility
AmpliTube Live is compatible with every Mac running MacOS X 10.2 with built-in audio (an external audio card is needed for laptop or desktop systems without built-in audio I/O).

Why does AmpliTube hiss or make static noise?
This is probably because AmpliTube is running in demo mode, which inserts white burst of noise about every 6-8 seconds. You must authorize your copy in order to make this disappear.
The Demo version will always have the noise.

I can't find AmpliTube in my programs menu, how do I open AmpliTube?
AmpliTube 1, AmpliTube LE, and AmpliTube 2.0 work as a plug in only, not as a standalone.
For the reason, you have to launch it from inside a host application like Sonar, Cubase, Pro Tools, etc.
If you want to use AmpliTube as standalone, please get AmpliTube Live, AmpliTube 2 Live or AmpliTube 2 v2.1.

MAC: Problems with Sample Tank and AmpliTube in Logic 5.5
When Logic Audio 5.5 was released, customers noticed noises and distortions
when it was used with our plug-ins AmpliTube and SampleTank.
Further investigation by IK Multimedia and Emagic revealed a conflict between Logic
and our software.
At this time, SampleTank and AmpliTube are not compatible with Logic Audio 5.5.
Please use them with Logic versions 5.3 and earlier, or 6.0 and later.

I’ve installed AmpliTube in my PC. However, it does not show up in Pro Tools 6.x.
This happens on PT 6.x because the files are installed to the wrong location on your HD. Here is how to fix it:
Do a search on your system for the file amplitube.dpm.
Once you find it go to the folder that has this file in it.
Now you will see a few more amplitube.x files here.
Select ALL the AmpliTube FILES & FOLDERS in this folder and COPY & PASTE them to this new location:
C:\Program files\Common files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug ins.

I’ve upgraded to Digital Performer on Panther, and now AmpliTube does not show up anymore.
This is a problem with DP and Panther. The first thing to check is if you have a file named MAS AudioUnit Support.bundle
in the /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/MAS folder.
If not, you won't see any Audio Units plug - ins at all.
If you did a clean install of Panther, you probably wiped it and will have to reinstall DP from the original CD,
then run the 4.1 updater (where the MAS AudioUnit Support.bundle first appeared), then the 4.11 updater.
You need to find this file MAS AudioUnit Support.bundle and put it in this folder /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/MAS folder.
If after following the above instructions you are still have problems, please contact MOTU Tech Support.

When I load AmpliTube in Pro Tools and try to authorize it, the Demo & Register buttons do not work. The plug in just freezes up.

If you insert it as a Multi-Mono plug in it will appear to freeze up.
(You can use it as a Multi-Mono plug in AFTER it has been registered)

I’ve received this ProTools error: DAE error #7401 while loading AmpliTube.
This is due to a misplaced file. Please uninstall your current version and then install the latest version of the software, always available online in your User Area on www.ikmultimedia.com.
Just make sure as to the location to which the files are being installed. For ProTools v.6.x or higher, the files should be in the below location:
For MAC OSX:
OSX Hard Drive/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins
For PC:
C: \Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug-Ins
